Endorsements

NC Association of Women Attorneys’ Judicial Endorsement Committee
On two prior occasions, I have accepted with great honor and humility the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys’ (NCAWA) Judicial Endorsement Committee’s endorsement of my candidacy. I trust to have their support in this 2026 election cycle.
As a father of three sons and a daughter. I want nothing less for my daughter than I do for my sons. I am married to a strong, intelligent and professional woman who is an excellent dentist and small business owner. I am more, not less blessed that my wife seeks, and to a large extent, has realized the fullness of her humanity. She and I are on one accord that men deserve no more rights, privileges or respect than do women. Our daughter will be taught no different, and we will fight tirelessly to ensure that she enjoys equal rights under the law.
I do share the NCAWA’s philosophy that women attorneys, as officers of the court, should participate fully, effectively, and without limitations of opportunity or respect, at every level of the justice system. Moreover, I firmly believe that the great ideal of our constitution and of our country should be, without ambivalence or contradiction, that women and men are equal in the eyes of the law, not merely for a season of convenience, but rather for a lifetime of conviction. The fundamental fact is this: Women attorneys and judges have demonstrated time and again that they, no less than men, have the intellect, integrity and intestinal fortitude to tackle complex and consequential matters that impact our community and country. Thus, to deny or otherwise infringe upon the rights of women is to violently offend our basic notion of freedom, justice and liberty for all.
When I was Chief of the Army’s largest legal assistance office, Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, Fort Bragg, NC, I sought to further women in the profession by providing female attorneys whom I supervised with real and meaningful opportunities to excel in the workplace, by assigning them substantive work assignments and valuing their input. I have promoted women attorneys to key leadership positions, and I wrote formal evaluations which ensured their well-deserved recognition and reward. Further, I have always extended proper respect and courtesy to every woman attorney or judge whom I have worked with or appeared before, respectively.
Greater Cumberland Area Lodge #59 of the Fraternal Order of Police
As a former law enforcement officer – Deputy Sheriff and Military Police Officer – I enjoy the full support of the Greater Cumberland Area Lodge #59 of the Fraternal Order of Police!

Cumberland County Democratic Party
Similarly, I am pleased to report previous endorsement of my campaign by the Cumberland County Democratic Party, whose prior letter to me stated, “We heartily endorse you to retain your seat as our District Court Judge. We will do everything in our power to help re-elect you. Thank you for participating in this process…we did it because we want to put our judges in the best position possible for re-election. We look forward to a productive campaign season and victory in November.” Likewise, I trust to have their expressed endorsement in service of my retention on the Superior Court Bench!
