Judicial experience on both District and Superior Courts. Presided over thousands of criminal and civil court proceedings, to include jury trials, bench trials, motions hearings, involuntary commitment hearings, Environmental Court, Adult Drug Treatment Court, Sobriety Court and Veterans Treatment Court.

Education:
BS; Dual Master’s in Public Administration and Management; Juris Doctorate

Leadership:
Past President Cumberland County Bar Association. Served on Boards for the Fayetteville Kiwanis Club, and Airborne and Special Operations Museum. Serve on the Board of Advisors, Fayetteville State University

Military Service:
82nd Airborne Division, USASOC and USACAPOC. Ranger and Jumpmaster qualified. Served in the Army JAG Corps, as a Prosecutor, Defense Attorney, International Law Attorney, and Chief of the largest Legal Assistance office.

State Government:
Assistant State Attorney

Private Law Practice:
Founder and Managing Partner – The Stokes Law Firm – for 16 years. Handled thousands of state and federal civil and criminal matters, including courts-martials.
